Motion Family is a full service production company and creative firm based in Atlanta. With combined backgrounds in design, photography, and video they have created visuals for a variety of media platforms from advertising campaigns to music videos, artist branding, and film.
The collective is made up of three directors: David KA, Diwang Valdez and Sebastian Urrea. Together, their work is the result of three distinct viewpoints and skill sets converging into one-of-a-kind content. Since forming in 2005, Motion Family has gained worldwide acclaim for their music video work for artists such as Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Jeezy, Fetty Wap, Big K.R.I.T., Young Thug, BoB, Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne, T.I., Wacka Flocka, Boosie, and The Dream. Not only have they worked for the biggest names in the business, but their disruptive visuals for unsigned artists like Pill, Trinidad James, and Yelawolf have helped lead to major label deals with Warner Bros., Def Jam, and Interscope.
In addition to their ever expanding music video catalogue, Motion Family has worked on several successful ad campaigns, including commercial spots for Finish Line, Under Armour, Fresh Empire, Casio G-Shock and the 2014 & 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Their work has been recognized by CNN, The New York Times, XXL Magazine, The Fader, and Complex Magazine, and they are regular panelists at film and music festivals across the country.
And the Family keeps on growing. Most recently, the collective welcomed filmmaker Matt Swinsky into their production house. Matt exploded onto the scene with his VHS skating videos and “Lazer” short-film series, which gained him well over 100,000 followers on Vine. He first linked up with Motion Family in 2011 playing an integral role in filming some of their biggest music videos. Matt has since gone on to direct his own videos for Ludacris, Mike Will, Ty Dolla Sign, K Camp, Big K.R.I.T. and Two-9.
